Looking for an Electrician in Liverpool?

Electrical problems rarely turn up at a good time. A fuse board keeps tripping, a socket has gone dead, or you have just taken the keys to a flat and want to know the wiring is safe.

Liverpool is a city with a very mixed housing stock. There are Victorian and Edwardian terraces, tall older townhouses that have been split into flats, post-war family homes, student lets, and newer apartments near the waterfront and city centre. Each of these can throw up different electrical questions. An older terrace may still have wiring from decades ago. A converted flat may share parts of its supply with neighbours. A rented house may need a safety report for the landlord.

To help you make a start, we have put together this guide to 10 electrical businesses that appear in Liverpool searches. This is a set of options worth comparing, not an official ranking. We have not tested their work.

We also want to be straight with you about what we found. For some of these businesses we could read a lot of detail. For others we could only find a short directory listing, and a few appear to be based outside the city of Liverpool. Where that is the case, we say so in the write-up, so you can decide for yourself. Always confirm the details with the business before you book.

Now let's look at each one in turn.

1. Volt Electrical Services

A sole trader profile for domestic electrical jobs, but the location is unclear

Volt Electrical Services has a profile on the MyJobQuote directory. It describes the business as a sole trader that was established in 2011, and it carries an "ID checked" tag and a "Part P Electrician" tag.

In its own words on that page, the business covers break downs and diagnostics, various heating systems, household electrics such as sockets, switches and light fittings, and external lighting. The page also lists skills including consumer units, house rewires, electrical inspecting and testing, electric vehicle charging points and solar panels.

The profile showed 123 reviews when we looked in October 2026. The page did not show a star rating for this trader, so we cannot give you one.

There is one important point. The profile says the business is "based in Wigan", while the page title and other parts of the page refer to Warrington. We could not find a Liverpool address. If you are in Liverpool, ask where the electrician is based and whether they travel to your postcode, and whether there is any extra travel charge.

We could not find a company website, so we have no further detail. Check any registration the electrician claims on the official scheme register.

A good place to start if: You are happy to ask a few questions about location and want a sole trader for household electrical work.

2. Daniel Paul Electrical Ltd

A registered Liverpool company with a small number of public reviews

Companies House lists Daniel Paul Electrical Ltd as a company incorporated on 20 October 2020, with a registered address on Duke Street in the city centre (L1). That tells you the company exists. It does not tell you how it works day to day, and Companies House does not check the accuracy of what it holds.

The company appears on the Rated Traders Liverpool electrician page, where it was listed as a residential and commercial installation, repair and maintenance business. When we looked in October 2026 it showed a rating of 5.0 from 9 reviews. That is a small number of reviews, so read them yourself. The same page marked every business on it as "Not Verified", which means none had passed that site's checks.

A TrustATrader listing, seen in search results, describes it as a Liverpool electrical contractor covering Wirral, Sefton and Merseyside. We could not open the full listing, so we cannot tell you more about its services.

We did not find any evidence of NICEIC, NAPIT or another scheme membership for this company. That does not mean there is none. It means you should ask. If the business says it is registered, check it on the scheme's own online register.

A good place to start if: You want to compare a newer local company and are happy to ask about registration and paperwork before you book.

3. Call Electrical

A Clubmoor business with a long public footprint, but dated reviews

Call Electrical has a FreeIndex listing giving an address on Larkhill Lane in Clubmoor, Liverpool. The listing shows opening hours of Monday to Sunday and mentions NAPIT under its memberships.

The services listed include electrical installation, testing and inspection, rewires, LED lighting, smoke alarms, CCTV and burglar alarms, and landlord work and certificates. The business describes itself as aiming for jobs to be on time, on budget and tidy.

Be careful with the reviews. FreeIndex showed five reviews on the profile, and they are mixed and old. Three are from 2011, one is from 2021 and one from 2022. The 2021 review gave one star and the 2022 review gave four stars with a complaint about unfilled ceiling holes after downlight work. The business replied to both. These are a small sample, but they show why recent feedback matters.

The listing says the business has been a member of the site for over 18 years. That tells you how long it has had a profile, not how long it has been trading. It also says all work is "insurance backed". That is the business's own wording, and we could not check it.

We did not find a company website. The phone number was partly hidden on the page we read, so use the details on the listing itself.

A good place to start if: You want a Clubmoor-based business for an installation, rewire or landlord certificate, and you will ask about recent customers.

4. LPM Electrical Services

A directory listing from the Wirral, covering Liverpool

This is a short entry, because that is all we could responsibly write.

LPM Electrical Services Ltd appears on TrustATrader as an electrician in Eastham, on the Wirral. The listing says it covers the Wirral, Chester, Skelmersdale, Liverpool, Wigan and Manchester. One short customer review on the listing says the team have always responded quickly.

A company called LPM Electrical Services Ltd was incorporated on 28 June 2021 according to Companies House search results, with a registered office near Chester. We cannot be sure it is the same business as the listing, so please treat that as something to confirm.

We could not find a website, a phone number, a scheme registration or details of the services offered. We would not rely on this listing alone.

If you want to contact them, ask where the electrician is based, whether they regularly work in your part of Liverpool, which scheme they belong to, and what paperwork they give you after a job.

A good place to start if: You live on the Liverpool side of the Mersey, are looking at several quotes, and are happy to check everything directly.

5. DC Electrical Solutions

A directory name we could not place in Liverpool

We could not find a business called DC Electrical Solutions that is clearly based in Liverpool.

A TrustATrader listing places a business with this name in Wigan, covering Wigan and the surrounding area. We did not find a Liverpool address. Companies House has several companies with similar names in other parts of the country, and we could not tell which, if any, matches the listing.

Be careful not to mix this one up with another. A firm called DC Electrical Services is on the Which? Trusted Traders site, with an address in Bristol. It is a different business.

If you want to contact a business under this name, ask for its full company name, its address and its registration number. Ask whether it travels to your postcode, and confirm any scheme membership on the official register before work begins.

A good place to start if: You were given this name by someone you trust and want to check it out. Otherwise, you may prefer to start with one of the better-documented options in this guide.

6. PB Electrical

A common name we could not match to a Liverpool business

PB Electrical is a short entry for an honest reason. We could not confirm a business of this name that works in Liverpool.

Our searches found a few similar names, but none stood out as a Liverpool electrician. One TrustATrader listing for PB Electrical is described as being in Warrington, with coverage including Warrington, Runcorn, Widnes, Golborne and Wigan. A sole trader called PB Electrical Services on MyJobQuote says it is based in Cornwall. Neither is a clear match for Liverpool.

Please do not assume that either of those is the business on the operator's list. Names like this are used by more than one trader.

If you have a phone number or a quote from a PB Electrical, ask them for the full trading name, a business address and a registration number. Ask which scheme they belong to and check the register yourself.

A good place to start if: You already have a contact for this business. If not, you will save time by starting with a better-documented option.

7. JD Electrical & Property Services

A Liverpool listing that mixes electrical and property work

JD Electrical & Property Services has a TrustATrader profile under electricians in Liverpool. A search result for the profile gives an L15 postcode and says the business covers surrounding areas.

The listing describes work including full and part rewires, new builds, lighting, switchboards, EICR inspections, fire and emergency lighting, security systems, and garden and external power. It says the business works for both commercial and domestic customers. It also says the business is registered with NICEIC and holds City & Guilds qualifications.

Those are the business's own claims, as shown on the listing. We could not open the full page to read the reviews, so we cannot give you a rating or a review count. We also did not find a company website or a Companies House record under this name, so we do not know whether it is a company or a sole trader.

The name matters. The business offers "property services" as well as electrical work. When you ask for a quote, ask which jobs will be done by the electrician and which by other trades. Ask who will sign off the electrical work and what certificate you will get.

A good place to start if: You have a property project, such as a refurbishment or a rental turnaround, and need electrical work as part of it.

Trader profile: JD Electrical & Property Services on TrustATrader

8. Current Connect NW

A two-person partnership covering the North West

Current Connect NW has a MyJobQuote profile. It describes the business as a partnership, established in 2022, set up by two electricians. The profile says it is "based in Ellesmere Port", and describes its coverage as across the North West. It shows "NAPIT approved", "ID checked" and "Part P Electrician" tags, and 11 reviews when we looked in October 2026. No star rating for this trader was shown.

Its listed work includes domestic electrics, fault finding, CCTV and security, testing and inspection, outside lighting, full and partial rewires, EV charging, repairs and maintenance, heating solutions, and loft and outhouse wiring.

Search results for its TrustATrader listings title it as a Widnes business, and say it offers a 24/7 emergency service. We did not open those pages, so we cannot say what they show. If you need urgent help, call first and ask about arrival time and the call-out charge.

Companies House search results show a Current Connect NW LLP, incorporated in March 2025, with a registered office in Wrexham. The name matches, but we have not confirmed that it is the same business, so please treat that as something to check.

So there are a few different places in the picture: Ellesmere Port, Widnes and Wrexham. Ask the electrician plainly where they are based and how long it takes to reach your part of Liverpool.

A good place to start if: You need fault-finding, testing or a smaller domestic job and you do not mind a business that is based outside the city.

Trader profile: Current Connect NW on MyJobQuote

9. Roblec Electrical Limited

A registered company based in Wigan

Roblec Electrical Limited is a real, registered company. Companies House lists Roblec Electrical Ltd as incorporated on 27 April 2016, with a registered address on Preston Road in Standish, Wigan (WN6).

TrustATrader listings for Roblec use the same postcode, and describe it as an electrician covering Lancashire, Wigan and Greater Manchester. They show five star reviews dated between 2024 and 2026, though we saw those only in search results.

We did not find anything showing that Roblec is based in Liverpool or regularly works in the city. Liverpool appears only on the same website's pages for other businesses. We also found no website of its own and no scheme registration.

This is the entry on the list that we are least able to connect to Liverpool. If you are in Wigan, St Helens or the north of the region, it may be a closer fit than it is for most Liverpool postcodes.

Ask whether the company travels to you, whether there is a travel charge, and which scheme it belongs to.

A good place to start if: You live toward Wigan or Skelmersdale and want a registered company with a clear address.

10. V & A Burgess Ltd

The best-documented business on this list, trading as Electrical Faults Fixed

V & A Burgess Ltd trades as Electrical Faults Fixed. Companies House lists V&A Burgess Ltd as incorporated on 20 August 2013, with a registered address at 5a Church Road South in Woolton Village, Liverpool (L25). The company's own website gives the same address.

The website lists fault finding and repair, including circuit breaker and trip switch problems, consumer unit upgrades, electrical safety checks (EICR), sockets, lighting and security floodlights, and commercial work for offices, shops, landlords and letting agents. It names the areas it covers as Liverpool, Woolton, Allerton, Aigburth, Garston, Childwall, Wavertree, Mossley Hill, Gateacre, Hunts Cross, Speke, Halewood, Widnes and Warrington.

The business advertises a 24 hour call-out. It aims to respond within 2 hours, and says same-day attendance is normally within 2 to 4 hours. At the time we looked, the site listed £120 for the first hour in the daytime on weekdays, and £180 for the first hour out of hours, with payment in advance. Prices change, so confirm them when you call.

It describes itself as NAPIT registered, City & Guilds qualified and Part P approved, and it says it holds a JIB Gold Card and is fully insured. It does not mention NICEIC. Those are its own statements. Check the NAPIT register before you rely on them.

On reviews, the business says it has more than 400 five-star reviews. The Rated Traders Liverpool page showed 5.0 from 404 reviews when we checked in October 2026, though that page marks all of its listings as "Not Verified". A separate, unclaimed Poyst listing showed 5.0 from 5 reviews. The website also shows "Three Best Rated" badges for 2024 to 2026 without naming who awards them. Read the reviews, and look for ones about the same kind of job you need.

A good place to start if: You live in south Liverpool and want an electrician who lists fixed call-out prices, or you need a certificate, an EICR or a fault tracked down.

A Few Things to Check Before Hiring an Electrician in Liverpool

Once you have a couple of names, take a little time to compare them. It can save you money and stress.

Check qualifications and registration

Ask whether the electrician is registered with a scheme that covers the work you need. Electricians in England who join a competent person scheme can self-certify some work and give you a certificate.

The GOV.UK guidance on competent person schemes explains how this works and where to search the electrical register. Do not rely on a logo on a van or a website. Look up the business on the scheme's own register.

Check where they are really based

As this guide shows, a business that turns up in Liverpool searches may be based in Wigan, on the Wirral or in Cheshire. That is not a problem if they travel to you, but ask about travel time and extra charges. This matters most for emergencies, where distance can change how quickly someone arrives.

Read reviews for the same kind of job

Do not just look at the overall score. Read some recent reviews to see what customers say about punctuality, tidiness, communication and pricing. Feedback on a rewire is more useful for a rewire than feedback on a light fitting.

Also check the date. A review from 2011 tells you very little about how a business works now.

Get a written quote

For planned work, try to get two or three quotes for the same job. Check that each one explains labour, materials, testing, certificates, VAT and anything excluded. A very low price may leave things out.

Confirm the paperwork

Depending on the job, you may need an electrical installation certificate, a minor works certificate or an Electrical Installation Condition Report. Ask what applies and whether it is included in the price. Keep these documents. You may need them when you sell, remortgage or rent out a property.

Think about the building

If you live in a flat, ask who is responsible for the shared parts of the installation. If you live in an older terrace, say how old the wiring is. If you are a leaseholder, you may need permission from the freeholder or management company before some work.

What Is an EICR, and Do You Need One in Liverpool?

EICR stands for Electrical Installation Condition Report. An electrician inspects and tests the fixed electrical installation in a property, and then reports on its condition. It can pick up damage, wear, overloaded circuits and other faults that need attention.

It is most often asked for by landlords, but it is also useful if you are buying an older home, or if you are worried about the wiring.

Liverpool is in England, so the English rules apply. Landlords covered by the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 must have the fixed electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years by a qualified person. They must get a report, give a copy to tenants, and carry out any work the report requires. The official GOV.UK electrical safety guidance for landlords says the same duty now also covers the social rented sector following a 2025 change.

Landlord licensing in Liverpool is a separate matter

Liverpool also has a selective licensing scheme for private rented homes, known locally as landlord licensing. It started in April 2022 and, according to the local news coverage we read, it ends in March 2027.

The council ran a consultation on what comes next that closed on 5 October 2026. The options included a citywide scheme covering all 64 wards, a scheme for 29 wards based on deprivation, and a scheme for 26 wards based on property conditions. We could not find a decision yet.

This is separate from the EICR rule, but the two overlap in practice. A licensed property still needs a valid electrical report. Check the Liverpool City Council website for the current rules on licensing, because they may change.

If you are arranging an EICR, ask whether the quote includes the written report, what happens if it finds problems, and how any repair work will be priced. Fixing faults is usually quoted separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an electrician cost in Liverpool?

It depends on the job. Changing a socket, tracing a fault, doing an EICR and rewiring a whole house all involve very different amounts of work.

Time, materials, access, the age of the property and whether you need an urgent visit all affect the price. The simplest approach is to describe the job clearly and ask for a written quote. When comparing, make sure each electrician is quoting for the same work.

We have not published price ranges, because we could not verify them for this guide. The only prices we saw were the call-out charges listed on one business's website, and these may change.

Who can I call for an emergency electrician in Liverpool?

Several businesses in this guide say they offer emergency help, including V & A Burgess Ltd and, according to its listings, Current Connect NW. Availability changes, so call first. Ask whether someone can reach your postcode, how long it will take and what the call-out charge is.

If you see sparks, smoke, a burning smell or exposed live wires, keep clear of the area and do not try to fix it yourself. If there is an immediate danger, call the emergency services.

Do landlords in Liverpool need an EICR?

Yes, if the property is covered by England's electrical safety regulations. The fixed electrical installation must be inspected and tested at least once every five years, and the landlord must get the report and share it as the rules require. Liverpool's landlord licensing scheme is separate, and may have its own conditions. Check both.

Can I trust a business that is not based in Liverpool?

You can, but check more carefully. Some businesses in this guide are registered or listed in Wigan, on the Wirral or in Cheshire. Ask how far they travel, whether there is a travel charge, and how they handle follow-up visits. For an emergency, distance matters more.

Is an older Liverpool terrace likely to need rewiring?

Not always, and we cannot tell you from the age of a house alone. Older properties can have old cabling, few sockets and outdated fuse boards, but many have been rewired over the years. The right step is an inspection, such as an EICR, which shows the actual condition. Ask the electrician to explain what they found in plain terms.

What should I ask before booking?

Ask whether the electrician covers your postcode, which scheme they are registered with, whether they can give a written quote, and which certificate or report you will get. It is also sensible to ask about start dates, payment terms, extra charges and any guarantee on the work.

A good electrician should be able to explain the job in a way you understand.

Final Thoughts

Finding an electrician in Liverpool does not need to be complicated, but it pays to be careful. Start by working out what you need, whether that is an urgent repair, an inspection or a larger project.

In this guide, V & A Burgess Ltd is the business we could check in the most detail, with its own website, a Companies House record, a Liverpool address and published coverage areas. Daniel Paul Electrical Ltd and Call Electrical are Liverpool-based but have fewer or older public reviews. JD Electrical & Property Services and Current Connect NW are worth asking questions of. For Volt Electrical Services, LPM Electrical Services, DC Electrical Solutions, PB Electrical and Roblec Electrical Limited, we could not confirm a clear Liverpool base, so please check before relying on them.

There is no need to choose the first name you see. A few simple checks can help you find someone who suits your home, your budget and the job.

At LocalListed, our aim is to help you discover local services and make better-informed decisions. We hope this guide gives you a useful starting point.

Editorial note: This guide uses publicly available business information and trader profiles reviewed in October 2026. LocalListed has not independently tested these businesses. This is a list of options worth comparing, not an official ranking. Service areas, reviews, registration details and availability can change, so confirm them directly with the company before booking.
