Cookie Policy
Every cookie this site can set, what it does, and how to turn the optional one off.

1. The short version
This site sets no cookies at all unless you either sign in to the admin panel or agree to analytics. There is no advertising network here, no social media pixel, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
2. Your current choice
Analytics is optional and off until you say otherwise. You can change your mind here at any time, and the change takes effect immediately.
Checking your current setting…
3. Essential cookies
These are set only when they are needed to do something you asked for. Under regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 they do not require consent, because without them the thing you requested cannot happen.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
ll_admin_session | Keeps the site operator signed in to the admin panel. Only ever set after a successful login. If you are a visitor rather than the operator, you will never have this. | 8 hours |
It is HttpOnly, so no script can read it, and SameSite=Lax, so it is not sent from other sites.
4. Analytics, which you can decline
If you agree, we load Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies in your browser and sends your IP address to Google, and Google is an independent controller of that data under its own privacy policy.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted. | 2 years |
_ga_* | Holds session state for this specific site. | 2 years |
Nothing from Google loads until you accept. Not the script, not a cookieless ping, nothing. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, your browser never contacts Google on our behalf.
5. What is not a cookie
Your answer to the banner is stored in your browser's local storage under ll-analytics-consent, not in a cookie. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it and you will be asked again.
6. Third parties your browser contacts anyway
Some page content is fetched directly from other organisations, which means your IP address reaches them as an ordinary part of loading it. This happens whatever you choose above, because it is how the content arrives:
- OpenStreetMap Foundation (
tile.openstreetmap.org): map tiles, and only on pages that show a map. - Unsplash (
images.unsplash.com): city photographs used as decoration.
Neither sets a cookie through this site, neither receives anything you type here, and neither is used to track you across other websites.
7. Turning analytics off later
Use the buttons in section 2. You can also clear cookies and site data for this domain in your browser settings, which removes both the analytics cookies and your stored answer.
More detail on what we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy, and the terms of using the site are in the Terms of Use.
