LocalListed publishes practical guides for people choosing a UK trade. If you know a trade properly, we would like to hear from you.
Read this before pitching: all links are nofollow or sponsored
Every outbound link in a contributed piece carries rel="nofollow", or rel="sponsored" where any payment or commercial relationship exists. There is no price at which that changes.
Google's spam policies treat paid links that pass ranking credit as a link scheme, and the penalty falls on the site publishing them as well as the site being linked. This directory lives on organic traffic. Selling a followed link would be trading the whole business for one fee, so we do not do it, and we will not be persuaded.
If a followed link is what you are after, please do not pitch. It saves us both the email.

A byline with your name and business, a short bio, and one nofollowed link to your site. Your piece sits in the guides alongside everything else we publish, and we will send it to the list.
What that is worth is being read by people actively choosing a tradesperson, and being the name attached to the answer. That is a slower thing than a link, and a more durable one.

Will my links be followed?
No. Every outbound link in a contributed piece is either nofollow or, where any payment or commercial relationship is involved, rel="sponsored". This is not negotiable at any price. If a followed link is the point of your pitch, this is not the site for you.
Do you charge to publish, or pay contributors?
Editorial contributions are free to submit and unpaid. If you want a piece placed because it promotes your business rather than because it helps a reader, that is a sponsored guide and it is priced on the advertise page. Either way the links are marked.
What sort of pieces get accepted?
Specific, practical guides for people choosing or dealing with a UK trade. How to check an electrician is registered. What an MOT advisory actually means. What a landlord gas safety certificate covers. Things where being wrong costs the reader money.
Can I use AI to write it?
We do not check, and we do not care how it was drafted. We do care whether it is accurate, specific to the UK, and says something a reader cannot get from the first result on Google. Generic filler is rejected whoever or whatever wrote it.
How long until I hear back?
We read everything and reply to pitches we want. If you have not heard within two weeks, assume it is a no. We would rather say that than leave you waiting.
