Reach people already looking for a business like yours
LocalListed is a UK directory of 55,589 businesses across 16 cities and 16 trades. People arrive here having already searched for a plumber, a dentist or a garage in their town. That is the whole audience: no feed, no timeline, just intent.
The site launched recently and traffic is still building. We publish the real figures for your placement rather than a rate card built on a number we cannot evidence. Ask and we will send current page views for the exact pages you are considering.
Ways to advertise
Four options, in rough order of how much traffic they see. Prices are per month, no contract, cancel whenever.
Featured listing
Your listing sits above the standard results on your category and city page, marked as featured.
The cheapest way to be seen by someone already looking for your trade in your town. Booked by the month against specific pages.
Category or city sponsorship
A single sponsor slot at the top of a whole category or city page, such as Plumbers in Manchester.
One sponsor per page at a time, so it is not an auction against four other companies. Priced on that page's actual traffic.
Sponsored guide
A guide on a subject your customers search for, labelled as sponsored, with your business credited.
Written to be genuinely useful or we will not publish it. Links to you are marked rel="sponsored". See the link policy below.
Newsletter slot
A placement in the email we send to businesses and readers on the list.
Small list, honestly reported. We will tell you the subscriber count and open rate before you book, not after.
Running a business that just wants a better listing rather than advertising? The listing plans start free.
Our link policy
Every paid link here carries rel="sponsored". That is what Google asks publishers to do, and we do it on every placement without exception.
We will not sell a followed link. Not for more money, not as a favour, not quietly. Google's spam policies treat paying for links that pass ranking credit as a link scheme, and the penalty lands on the buyer as well as the publisher. A directory that sells followed links eventually stops ranking, at which point its advertising is worth nothing to anyone.
So what you are buying is placement in front of people searching for your trade in your town, and the traffic that produces. If a followed link is what you are shopping for, we are not the right site, and we would rather say that now than take your money.
Enquire
Tell us which pages or trades you are interested in and we will reply with the current traffic for those pages and a price. No call required.
Questions
Do you sell followed links?
No. Every paid link on this site carries rel="sponsored", which is what Google asks for. We will not sell a link that passes ranking credit, because doing so risks a manual action against this site and against yours. Anyone offering you a followed link for money is selling you a liability.
What does a sponsored listing actually do?
Your listing is marked as featured and placed above the standard results on the category and city pages you sponsor, for the dates you have booked. The listing itself is unchanged: the same address, phone and opening hours as every other entry. We do not add review scores or badges you have not earned.
Can I pay to have a competitor removed or demoted?
No, and asking will end the conversation. The directory is built from open data and its usefulness depends on being complete. Any business can ask to have its own listing removed at any time, free.
How do you report on a campaign?
You get the page views and outbound clicks for your listing over the booking period, taken from our analytics, with the dates and the pages they came from. If a placement did not deliver, you will see that in the numbers rather than hearing it from us.
Is there a minimum spend or contract?
No contract and no minimum term. Placements are booked by the month and stop when you stop paying. There is no auto-renewing annual tie-in.
