We do not verify businesses

We have not checked, and make no statement about, any of the following:

• Whether a business holds any licence, registration or trade accreditation, including Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, FMB, TrustMark, RICS, SRA, ICAEW, ACCA, GDC, GMC, RCVS, GOC or any other scheme.
• Whether a business holds public liability or professional indemnity insurance.
• The qualifications, competence, conduct or safety record of any business or individual.
• Whether a business is currently trading, or trades from the address shown.
• The price, quality, timeliness or outcome of any work.
• Whether a business has ever been the subject of a complaint, claim or enforcement action.

Always verify credentials directly with the relevant register before hiring. Most UK trade and professional registers are free to search and are the only reliable source for whether a specific person or company is currently registered.

Food hygiene ratings

Hygiene ratings shown here come from the Food Standards Agency's Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or the Food Hygiene Information Scheme (Scotland), and are reproduced under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

• A rating reflects hygiene standards found by an inspector on the date of one inspection. It is not a measure of food quality, service, or customer satisfaction, and it is not a review score.
• Ratings change when a business is re-inspected. The rating we hold may be out of date. The current rating is always the one published by the FSA: every listing links to its FSA record so you can check.
• An absent rating usually means the business is not a food business or has not yet been inspected. It does not indicate poor hygiene.

Companies House information

Where a listing shows a company number, we matched the business name and postcode against the free Companies House bulk register. This confirms that a company of that name is registered at that postcode: nothing more. In particular:

• A registered office is frequently the company's accountant, not its premises.
• Sole traders and ordinary partnerships are not on the register at all, so an absent company number carries no meaning.
• Company status can change after we matched it. The register itself is authoritative.
• Names are not unique enough to rule out a mismatch entirely. If we have attached the wrong company to your business, tell us and we will correct it promptly.

Accuracy and completeness

Listing details are compiled from OpenStreetMap, a community-maintained database, together with the government open data described above. Addresses, telephone numbers, websites and opening hours may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect, and businesses that have never been mapped will not appear at all. Absence from this directory says nothing about a business.

We publish this data as we find it. We do not warrant that any listing is accurate, current or complete, and you should confirm details with the business directly before relying on them.

No reviews or ratings

This directory does not publish customer reviews, star ratings or review counts, and does not sell a "verified" label or any badge implying we have checked a business.

Ordering of the main results reflects how complete a record is, or the sort option you selected, never a judgement about quality and never payment.

Sponsored listings

Some pages carry a block of Sponsored listings above the main results. These are paid placementsand are always labelled as such. Paying for one buys position in that labelled block and nothing else: it does not change a business's order in the main results, does not add a badge to its profile, does not affect its hygiene rating or Companies House details, and does not mean we have checked or endorsed it. Being listed in this directory remains free.

Images

Where a listing shows an image it is freely licensed and credited to its author. An image taken from a brand's record is the brand logo and is labelled as such - it is not a photograph of that particular branch, and no image should be taken as depicting the current state of any premises.

Business names, logos and trade marks shown on this site belong to their respective owners. Their appearance here is descriptive. It identifies the business the listing refers to. It does not indicate any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from that business, and we are not the agent of any business listed.
